Paul,

That's a good story!

I think these 'signs' are not just separete signs themselves. They come to your life, if you Attract them.

Like Paul... You wanted a house, and here you are! The Universe provides it for you...

'Ask, and it is given'

The bottom line is, when the opportunity comes, you'd better act upon it, because it doesn't like to wait.

Anyways... isn't it nice we Hungarians got together here for changing ideas in English? :P

Thanks Paul for sharing your experience.

After you stirred up my curiosity, I did a quick search on the word "tokalon" and what I did find is that it is not a Hungarian but rather a Greek word. "To kalon" in Greek means "the beautiful". So you have your house on "the beautiful street" :)

Can you recognize the signs?

May I comment on this article in a very positive way and say the subject matter is very reverent to everyone in our everyday thinking, even though there are those who would not like to admit the importance of signs. Your Ps. at the end of your comments on this important topic said it all! It is a valid example that signs are meaningful and can be powerful vehicles to guide us through a natural path to follow as we search for happiness and meaning.
"Finally I decided to go with one arcane from the tarot, called ‘The Star’. When I made my decision, in the exact next moment, I heard the following line in the song that was just playing in my room: "There is a star in the sky, Guiding my way with its light…" (Depeche Mode, Album: Violator, Song title: Waiting for the night). How about this? Is it time to find myself a shrink?!"
Now, I think no shrink is necessary in your case. It has been my experience that the sign often fits the moment and often the moment can fit the time.
Meaningful signs often relate to important decisions which must be made in our short time here on this wonderful place we chose to call earth. If we muse about signs with a proper open mind set, they will always take us in the direction we should be following.
I give a personal example about following signs in one’s life. When I moved to San Diego several years ago,(although I now also live in Hungary) I searched for about 5 months to find a home I would enjoy. I was getting a little frustrated with the search when my realtor Sandra called and wanted to show me a house she thought had possibilities and could fulfill my requirements.
Upon first inspection the place I wasn’t that excited about it, as I would have to do some remodeling to adapt it to my character and life style. I told Sandra it wasn’t for me and to keep looking for something else. Sandra, being the wise and knowledgeable person she is told me to think about it very hard for one week and left me with these comments. " The house is way undervalued, it can easily be remodeled to fit my taste, not many homes in the area have a wonderful ocean view, and her final comment was that I could make a small fortune on it’s appreciated value in 10 years".
So for a week I thought about all of the pros and cons of purchasing this property and making in my home. I thought very intensely about every detail about the place. Then the address of its location kept sticking in my mind 2144 Tokalon Street. Somehow, Tokalon Street had a very Hungarian ring to it and I decided this was my sign that I should purchase the house and create my new home.
END OF STORY: Today the house is worth a small fortune and one of the most wonderful places to live in San Diego. Every time I return to my home there, the first thing I do is walk out onto the terrace, look out at the sun setting into the ocean and say to myself, "WOW, HOW LUCKY, BUT WHY ME"!

A time for everything and everything in it’s time, it will be easy if we only just follow our sign.

You are lucky it didn't strike you at first place ;)

Maybe it was just a lightning, nothing more. Anyway, the choice is yours always, no question about it. What is difficult to figure out, is that something you noticed is in fact a sign or not. You see, this is why I suggested that synchronicity could play the role of confirmation. As a meeting point of objective and subjective, inner and outer. All rest is absolutely subjective. Especially your decision. So it is entirely up to you which road you are going to take. You are given the option of choice, freely. You can even choose disregarding any signs (sic!)

In the last sentence I was replying to your point about Directions. Let's say I'm at a crossroad trying to decide which way to take. Then above one of the roads a lightning strikes at the horizon, poiting like an arrow. Leave me alone! I want my choices to come from deep inside. Yeah, I could just throw a dice or a coin but then who's in control? That doesn't make me feel safer. Is it a guiding light or a leash? A crutch or a cage?

I don't think that those who see signs or tell the future or whatever, can be seen as oracles automatically. It all depends on a healthy ego. Not all "special" people must be treated in a mental home but there are many who would otherwise harm themselves (or others) and suffer a lot.

Anyway, I think the number of signs strongly depends on watching and seeking them... e.g. today I just saw dozens.

@ teodora
:) So, there is a sense of humor behind the scenes after all.

I find it interesting that you mention it in the context of symptoms. Indeed they accompany changed states of mind very often. These days we say it's a sickness, they are mentally ill and they need to be heavily medicated. Quite humiliating. I am quoting you "still doesn't mean this is wrong", agreed. The thing is, in old times those people were more likely considered shamans, oracles etc. Those were the ones able to see into other worlds.

With the safety remark, I agree. This could be scary, it is 'better' for some not to consider signs.

Regarding your last sentence, I don't get the meaning of it. What do you mean by being pushed by signs? If you mean it as I suppose, than you're wrong. In my context, signs are not pushing you into anything. The very nature of a sign is to point out something, nothing more.

Way too many signs can be symptoms.. which still doesnt mean they are wrong but they accopany some uncomfortable states of mind when ppl are usually manic, psychotic or whatever.. in the end one can get quite paranoid.
You can't know they are right unless it's something that can be proven (rarely), otherwise maybe in your afterlife (if there is one) you'll have more insight. Does it matter? What I never know is how much is OK, does it depend on paying attention? When you start to think of it and notice them they come more and more...
As for the first point, some people feel more safe in the material world without gods and that, so they are more scared of such things. I wouldn't want to be pushed by signs into any direction either.
