My picks for you to think about in this weekend.

  • 8 Ways to Spark Your Creativity - by Henrik Edberg on Positivity Blog

Point 2 was actually the best fitted for me at this time. Henrik says “Take a trip outside your personal bubble.” I might consider taking this advice seriously in the upcoming days.

  • How to Be a Zealot in 3 Easy Steps by Mark Joyner

Mark suggests to give up your ability to think rationally and start screaming for your belief. How about that?

  • 10 Tell-Tale Signs That You Are A Working Mystic by Nneka on Balanced Life Center

Actually I don’t have a copy of Dhammapada on my desk. But point 5 is close when says “when co-workers start complaining about the daily grind, you advise them to go within and find peace.”

I very much like the Vertegram Site and very much enjoyed the article: 8 Ways to Spark Your Creativity - by Henrik Edberg.

I would like to address point 2 of the article, “Take a trip outside your personal bubble”, because this technique almost always works for me, especially when I need to be more creative or when I need to find a solution to a problem. By the way, I almost always try to substitute the word “opportunity” for “problem” as it makes the thought process much more positive. Positive energy always leads to creative solutions much more rapidly.

“Take a trip outside your personal bubble.”

Almost without fail this works for me. An example I offer is this: I am a member of a public speaking group called Toastmasters Club. The aim of the club is to improve one’s communication and public speaking skills.
There are two groups of the Toastmasters club in Budapest. The first is an established group of older business and community people between the ages of 30-60. I normally attend meetings of this group.

The second club is a newer one consisting mainly of Graduate students between the ages of 23-35. Some have experience in the adult world others have less. Only a few of these students are from Hungary, the others from a variety of other East European Countries.

I was very comfortable attending meetings with the older established club, but something made me attend one of the newer younger club’s meetings. WOW! I discovered the dynamics and the thought process of the two groups are very different and noticeable. I am much more stimulated and the information fed into my thoughts from the younger group is very refreshing and somehow much more thought provoking.

So, I offer you this bit of personal wisdom. If you want to experience new ideas, new thoughts as well as thought processes, take a trip outside your personal bubble by hanging around people who are much younger then you. However, do it with an open mind because you may find their younger culture and ideas strange and foreign and even a bit bizarre! Kind of like when you were that age and people thought, wow, how strange!
