Recommended readings for the weekend. A few posts that I’ve found and enjoyed during this weektime.
- Goals Beyond Personal Fulfillment by Nneka on Balanced Life Center
On Monday, Nneka just posted the question “What would life be like if you achieved all your goals?” which I thought was a good one. After a few comments, she updated the post with her actual list of goals. We had a friendly e-mail exchange on details of the post, and successfully clarified some thoughts. My point here is: now you try and give your answer to the question.
- How’s life on your island? by Jessica Hagy on Indexed
I’m a fan of Indexed for some time. Here’s one I’ve found to be the most hilarious one for this week.
- A Few Solutions for the Creative Writing Classroom by Reginal Shepherd
Interesting thoughts from Reginald on his poetry workshops technique. He wants his students to participate with poetry, to engage them into the poem first of all. Like the idea.
- If I Were a Rich Man … Why It is Good to Struggle by Collis on North x East
About how scarcity forces us to think more creatively and how struggle builds character. All spiced up with a little bit of programmer wisdom.
Another one from Collis on creativity: The Idea Factory - How to Enable Your Creativity
About what to do when creativity is a goal itself becomes a goal. About being receptive and proactive. I like his 6 steps towards the idea factory.
- Five Grammatical Errors That Make You Look Dumb by Brian Clark on Copyblogger
A must learn for me, maybe for you too. Especially no. 2 ‘It’s vs. Its.’ He does not mention this, but for me there is a similar issue with ‘Let’s vs. Lets.’
Have fun!
