My dear friends and readers! I haven’t been posting for a short time, but believe me I had the sweetest reason on Earth for that. Just take a look at the picture. It was/is one of the most extraordinarily wonderful experiences of my life!
Will be back to blogging after a short while, now I need to be with my family.
Cheers!

My good friend who is often commenting here, Razvan, recently draw my attention to something from the news, which I am not sure if is hilarious or disgusting. This news is related to the - so far - windmill fight of the Tibetans for their country and beliefs. Much degrading inhuman deeds, much unforgiveable violence was/is there. Even for a true Buddhist, it is utterly challenging to learn compassion in what was/is going on there. But this new turn given to the screenplay makes your mind stop and look around.

There is a possible evolution for man. This is a self-development blog, so I am talking in that context. Even if I don’t like the term ‘evolution’ to be used when it comes to what man can become, still I consider it a fact. There must be a possible evolution. The question is if the evolution of man will occur by all means - in the close or distant future - or not. Is evolution a necessity?

The concept of the human being seen as a machinery is not a new one. But in spite of that, it is one of the most avoided ones when it comes to self development. So let’s take a closer look at it. There must be something about it, as this avoidance seems strikingly disturbing. The sentiment of freedom, knowing that we are acting freely, being able to decide about our lives - this is how we like to picture ourselves. Is this how we really are?

This question is always showing up when people from different world-views talk about it. There are the Hindus with their theory, the Buddhists with a somewhat similar, still original view, other Oriental philosophy fanatics and also the newage dizzies. By now, the Karma meme is present in Western minds, so many people have heard of it and believe in it. My guess is that you also have your version of Karma theory yourself, which you might consider sharing here. But for now here is mine.

Why are personal development idea streams so popular? What kind of need are they feeding? There must be a need, there must be a demand since they are so popular. But is this need a natural one, a necessity? Or is it a created one, an artificiality? Maybe this is a question like ‘the chicken or the egg’, maybe there is an obvious origin for it. You tell me. But I would like to draw your attention to something commonly shared in all those personal development promptings.

After being seemingly the second most praised movie on personal development blogs - the first being undoubtedly “The Secret” - I decided to watch “Peaceful Warrior”. Made after a book written by Dan Millman and according to the movie makers “inspired by true events”. I never had the chance to read the book, a chance that I never gave myself. As far it concerns the true events behind the story, it just made me curious to get on with watching it.
Now let’s get on with some comments on this movie.

The story goes like this: there was a doctor who invented a peculiar way of helping his patients. I am not sure if he was using it on all his patients, but he did on some in great need of his help. His new way of relieving his patients from their sufferings turned out to be soon quite popular among his fellows in the small, but so much the more solidary, community. In fact many of his friends started to follow his recipe and act alike. Let’s see now his recipe.

The enneagram is one of the best tools for self understanding. Also, for understanding other people. If used properly, it can be a trustful compass in your life quest. Some say it is a map of the human nature. If we consider personality as a demarcated form of the human soul, then learning our personality type will get us closer to the soul. This post is the first one in a series I intend to do on presenting the possibilities of the enneagram. Right now I believe that the enneagram is a valid, and nonetheless pragmatic tool that can help you enormously in your personal development efforts.
