Peculiar disguises of the law of attraction

The big hype around the law of attraction will eventually cool down. It would be elucidating to see how many people of those who are LOA evangelists now, will have the perseverance in applying it continuously. How many of those who are preaching and teaching about it will become what they attract or will get what they attract? Will see that in the near future for sure. For today, I am going to write about how I met this law of attraction in different disguises before. I guess, this might even help clarifying the concept a little bit. Let’s see.

If I remember it well, it was about 14 years ago when my first yoga teacher spoke about “The law of perfect realization”. This is how it was called there and then. Essentially, it is similar to what further on I got to know as “Thought manifestation”. Also, somewhat similar was another concept I met through the teachings of Kashmir Shaivism, the concept of Spanda, translated in context as resonance. I will not consider now those hybrids like Mind Control, self hypnosis suggestion techniques etc.

Thoughts tend to become reality

Although the way it is to be put in practice, both “The law of perfect realization” and “Thought manifestation” are almost identical, I would prefer to use the latter as denoting the same phenomenon. Essentially, it is all about being able to manifest your thoughts. It is said, that thoughts tend to become very real. They tend to show up in the physical world. It is all a matter of time. It is dependent on timing.

Perfect realization of your strong intention

When they said “perfect realization”, it was meant to point out very clearly that this law makes perfectly possible to realize exactly what you are asking for. A perfect realization. In this context, it was defined as making a firm command. A firm mental command to manifest exactly the object of your will. So, this is a very pragmatic approach in its essence.

IceThe expressive example usually given for thought manifestation is to picture it like when water condenses into ice cubes. Similarly, thoughts become real after being intensely visualized. All that visualization being accompanied by a strong, firm belief, a strong intention. Then intention takes a visible shape. It becomes reality. Essentially, this is what thought manifestation is about.

The third form mentioned above in how I met the law of attraction before, was the actualized theory of resonance. In its essence, this says, that whatever is showing up in you like thoughts, feelings, desires, wishes, fears etc. will have an echo in your close or far surroundings. And thus, you will be vibrating on the same frequency with similar phenomenons, carrying the same type of energy. The major difference form how the law of attraction is presented is, that you yourself become not just a passive receiver, but also a relay for that energy. It takes it one step further. This brings in different connotations, but I will stop with those for now.

Why you can’t influence the time factor?

Getting back to “Thought s manifestation”, we see that it is dependent of time. The most important factor for thought manifestation is time. Whether you approach this as the law of attraction or as striving for a perfect realization of your intention, you have to be very aware of the time factor. You can not really influence much the timing of thought manifestation. Why is that? Usually this is not explained. It is just left to the trivia that you just have to be patient. Sounds like, “sit back and relax, the Universe is at your service.” Looks like a religion of commodity is showing up there. But anyway, let’s try to give an answer to the question. Why you have to wait? Why you can not influence the time factor? What kind of a perfect law is this if it does not work instantaneously?

My take on this is, that the time for manifesting your intention is also dependent on how permeable is your personal unconscious. Your unconscious is formed by your repeated thoughts during your lifetime. If you prefer, this can be analogous somewhat to the Oriental concept of karma. In that context, you can say that it is your karma that permits or not the manifestation of your intent. I guess it permits eventually anyway, but it is a question of time again. If your personal unconscious is formed very differently, then it will take time for your intention to travel through all that and make its way through it.

Conclusions:

  • The law of attraction was there in front of many of us before. It was just given a different name and less advertisement.
  • In its essence, the law of attraction is the phenomenon of thought manifestation.
  • The phenomenon is dependent on time.
  • Timing is dependent on permeability of your unconscious.

Some of the above approaches might deserve further discussions. Probably many of you are already applying those in one or other form. I would be curious to hear from you about your preferred frameworks. Also, about your understanding of the phenomenon. Was it successful for you? Did you face any concerns or obstacles? Which approach seems to work well for you? Do you have other contexts in which you see or apply it?

for example if you thought for 10 years ‘I am weak’ it’n not enough to think for 3 days ‘Maybe I am strong’. it doesn’t work like that, it’s not something magik. It’s cause and effect and is not a secret, hasn’t been ever.

    Thanks for your comment Razvan!

True, it’s not easy when it has become like a habit to think negativistic of yourself. The good part is though that there is a way out and it’s never too late to get posivite and also find balance.

The law of attraction is certain and can be seen everywhere. For example here in Hungarian politics MSzP type thinkers join in and support Mr. Gyurcsany and Fidesz thinkers support Mr. Orban and it doesn’t matter who is right or wrong, only the like attraction is all that counts. Other examples, money attracts money, wine lovers are attracted to wine lovers, palinka lovers are attracted to palinka lovers, positive people are attracted to other positive people, negative people seem to like to hang around other negative people and the list goes on. Cigar smokers, chess players, golfers, sailors, nudists, gamblers etc. Yes, birds of a feather do tend to flock together why, the law of attraction of course.

However, one sobering thought here, as we grow and develop, and yes age, our priorities/needs tend to change, and so our attractions change also. This affects our work, our hobbies our families and our circle of friends.

One quick note on thought manifestation, this is real folks, thought manifestation works and it is constantly going on in both our conscious and subconscious mind. It is a very powerful forse. I once heard a wise friend of mine once say:

“BECAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR, BECAUSE YOU JUST MIGHT GET IT”.

An example I have of this, a friend of mine once told me he was wishing for several years that he could retire early. He finally did, 7 years ahead of schedule, only to die of a heart attack 6 months later.

I would like to hear some other thoughts on this expression.

I guess he retired completly from this life. he wanted to rest…

and how about ‘Opposites atract’ ?

another question wold be: if most men would like to be with Adrian Lima for example or another star how can this come true?

    that’s Adriana Lima, sorry

Razvan, I guess in the case of ‘Opposites attract’ that you mention, both poles have to be attracted. This means, that she should be also attracted to ‘most men’. This is to be seen… But hey, don’t give up the hope! ;)

Paul, you made an important remark here: In time, our priorities/needs change. So we tend to attract different phenomenons. Sometimes it happens that you will eventually get what you have wished for, but you realize that now it is completely inappropriate.

Your conclusion adds something more to the above mentioned time factor: time also brings change, change brings different priorities/needs.

Recently I was a little bit tired of my daily routine and said to myself: “I may become dizzy if I can’t get away from it to refresh and relax”

As I like traveling and meeting other cultures, by accident -but not accidentally- I manifested an EU youth training program -thanks EU taxpayers for the support- and now I am back refreshed, with new friends, experiences and ideas… about what would I really like to manifest into my life.

    Of course, it changes always.

Attila, you may missed some elements - at least according to my version: you not only have to wait.. but you have to Act upon the Universe…
(Literally it means - work :-)

And the Universe likes speed… when you see the opportunity - go for it!

Opposites attract’? A few more comments here.

Do opposites attract? Yes opposites do attract, any magnet can tell you that positives attract negatives.

And in real life the phenomena also exist, opposites do tend to attract. The real question/problem is what happens after the attraction. It has been my personal experience that in the long run and sometimes even in the short run being attracted to an opposite is not a good thing.

Let me tell you a little story or two. Several times in my life I was attracted to people who were the opposite of me and let me be specific here with an example, of a women who became my girlfriend, lets call her Monique. Monique was an absolute knockout, tall, slim, long blond hair, and to top it all off very intelligent, so it didn’t take me but a minute to fall madly in love with her.

The problem was after getting to know her, she was the complete opposite regarding, values, religion, politics, food, dress, travel, music, smoking, and almost everything else. Then, after several months together all Monique and I ended up doing was fighting and arguing over almost everything. Yes, for some reason I was attracted to this very opposite person and it ended up a complete disaster. This opposite attraction to women happened several times to me and I always had to learn the hard way. Only later in my life did I finally figure out to take my time and not to get to deeply involved with opposites, even though I am attracted to them.

A little older a little wiser, as the saying goes. I have found that in life we are presented with the same lesson until we finally get it right!
